Collection: Herbert House Exhibition

Herbert House Exhibition — Collection Description

A curated collection of large-scale abstract paintings, created for a solo exhibition within the architectural setting of Herbert House, Glasgow.

This body of work explores colour, movement, and layered texture, designed to interact with space rather than simply occupy it. Each painting has been developed with scale and placement in mind, allowing the works to sit naturally within refined interiors while bringing depth, warmth, and atmosphere to their surroundings.

Set against wood panelling, mirrored surfaces, and structured architectural elements, the collection demonstrates how abstract painting can elevate a space — introducing contrast, energy, and a sense of quiet luxury. The works are intentionally immersive, drawing the viewer in through subtle shifts in tone, layered pigment, and tactile surface detail.

Rooted in an intuitive and expressive process, each piece carries a sense of fluidity and emotional presence, reflecting themes of growth, transformation, and self-alignment. The layered compositions mirror the idea that experience builds over time, creating depth not only within the artwork, but within the viewer’s own interpretation.

All paintings within this exhibition are original works, created using acrylic, oils, and mixed media on canvas. Sizes vary, with a focus on statement pieces that are suited to both residential and commercial environments.

Each work is available for acquisition. For private viewings or enquiries, please get in touch directly.
